Mission-critical timing for defense, aviation and satellite comms

Aerospace & Defense

Defense and aerospace projects have three specific requirements:

  1. Holdover from days to months for situations where GNSS is not available (jamming, EMCON, underground installations)
  2. Chain-of-custody documentation: who built, tested and calibrated the unit?
  3. CE / RoHS / ITAR compliance where applicable
What we typically deliver:
  • GMR5000 or GMR6000 with the Rubidium option for multi-day holdover
  • Antenna installations in EMC-shielded environments
  • Certificate of Conformance per individual unit, traced by serial number
  • For NATO projects: documentation in line with the relevant annexes
Points of attention:
  • No consumer-grade GPS receivers for mission-critical use. The Masterclock GNSS modules are genuine L1 multi-constellation, not smartphone-class
  • Backup time distribution via IRIG-B instead of NTP for isolated-network deployments
  • On-site survey: Daylight comes to measure where the antenna goes, how the cable run is laid out and which shielding fits
Practical context: Daylight has held NATO procurement experience since the 1990s and knows which documentation is expected (CE conformity, RoHS statement, FCC, EAR/ITAR classification where relevant).

We do not integrate weapon systems or avionics, those are different specialists. The timing layer underneath your mission-critical network is our expertise.
