NTP100-OSC - NTP Server

NTP100-OSC - NTP Server – Masterclock

The NTP100-OSC is a stand-alone NTP time server without external reference, driven by an internal precision oscillator. Standard with TCXO (typically a few seconds of drift per year) or optional OCXO for tighter stability. Chosen when GNSS is unavailable or undesirable (for example in shielded bunkers, data centres without rooftop access, or secure environments where no external radio input is permitted) yet the installation still requires a synchronised time source.

Standard Features
  • Compact NTP client / server
  • Internal precision TXCO accurate of ± 3 seconds/year
  • Optional OCXO accurate of ± 250ms/year
  • NTP output accuracy of ± 2 milliseconds
  • 6-digit clock display (red)
  • Adjustable time display brightness
Network Compatability
  • Supports NTP, DHCPv4, DHCPv6 for automatic acquisition of network address, name servers, and timeserver configuration
  • Telnet or SSH communication
  • IPv4/IPv6 compatible
  • SNMP with custom MIB
Configuration
  • Configure devices through provided WinDiscovery software or Telnet or SSH
  • Configuration is saved to nonvolatile memory and survives power losses
  • Authenticated network messages prevent unauthorized tampering of clock configuration

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the TCXO and OCXO variant?

The standard TCXO offers typically a few seconds of free-run drift per year; the optional OCXO is tighter and suitable for applications with higher stability requirements. For installations that must remain synchronised over longer periods without external correction, choose the OCXO variant. Exact specifications are in the datasheet.

Can the NTP100-OSC later synchronise with GNSS?

The NTP100-OSC is an oscillator-only model with no GNSS receiver. If you may later want to add a GNSS feed, that is a different model (NTP100-GNSS). For customers who may want to add an external reference periodically, the NTP100-OSC is not the right choice.

Who typically uses this unit?

Isolated IT environments, secondary or back-up NTP sources in a network where the primary source is GNSS, or installations where rooftop antenna deployment is not feasible. NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency) is a known customer for this model at its Capellen facility.
