Dilution of precisionDOP

Dilution of precision (DOP) expresses how favourably the satellites are spread across the sky. If they are nicely distributed the DOP is low and the measurement accurate; if they are clustered the DOP is high and the error larger.

For time applications the TDOP (time DOP) is especially relevant, reflecting the influence of geometry on the time determination.
