Pseudorange

The pseudorange is the apparent distance between receiver and satellite, computed from the signal travel time times the speed of light. It is called 'pseudo' because the receiver's still-unknown clock error is included in it.

By combining pseudoranges to four or more satellites, the receiver solves for position and time at once.
