Protocols and time transfer

TWSTTTWSTT

TWSTT (Two-Way Satellite Time and Frequency Transfer) compares the clocks of two far-apart laboratories by exchanging time signals in both directions via a geostationary satellite. Because the path is symmetric, the path delay largely cancels out.

It is one of the most accurate methods to compare national time laboratories and thereby contributes to the computation of TAI.
