TCDS84 - Time Code Driven Clock – Masterclock

The TCDS84 is a timecode-driven digital clock display with 18 cm tall LED digits in a 4-digit configuration. Synchronises to IRIG-B, SMPTE 12M or 309M timecode (24/25/30 fps non-drop frame), with automatic detection of the source protocol. For broadcast studios, military installations and post-production environments where timecode is already distributed over coax and displays must synchronise to that source. Suitable for very large broadcast studios, sports control rooms or military command centres where timecode must be readable over tens of metres. Battery-backed RTC maintains time during signal loss.

What is the viewing distance of 18 cm digits?

Typically up to ~60-80 metres under normal indoor lighting. Suitable for sports control rooms, large studios or station event venues with live timecode distribution.

PoE or AC for such a large unit?

AC is the recommended power supply for 18 cm digit displays due to the higher consumption. PoE may be limited depending on colour and brightness setting. Request confirmation at order time.

Timecode input options?

BNC for single-ended (modulated/unmodulated IRIG-B, SMPTE 12M/309M, EBU), optional 3-pin terminal for differential. Automatic type detection.
