The PCIe-OSC is a Masterclock PC card that gives a PC or server a synchronised time source based on an internal oscillator, without dependence on external NTP or GPS signals. For applications where the PC itself must be the time source (for example an isolated measurement computer, a time-stamping server on an air-gapped network, or a back-up time source). Configurable time-zone and DST offsets, millisecond accuracy for Windows applications, microsecond achievable through API development.

Frequently asked questions
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows is the primary supported platform, with bundled drivers and API. For Linux, check current driver compatibility with Masterclock; not all versions have Linux support.
What is the difference compared to the PCIe-TCR?
The PCIe-OSC has an internal oscillator only (no external input). The PCIe-TCR accepts external IRIG-B/SMPTE timecode as input via BNC. Choose OSC for a stand-alone time source, TCR for synchronisation to existing timecode.
How accurate is it?
Millisecond-level for standard Windows applications. For microsecond precision you must communicate with the card counter directly via the API rather than through the Windows time API.
What is the lead time for this product?
Standard lead time is 8-10 weeks from Masterclock USA. Daylight bv stocks the most common references in Ghent. Contact us for current availability and any rush options.
What warranty do you get on this product?
5-year limited parts and labour warranty via Daylight bv as authorised Masterclock distributor. Carry-in for customers in the EEA, on-site available by prior arrangement. See [five-year warranty](/en/knowledge-base/five-year-warranty/).
