Syntonization
Also: syntonisatie
Syntonization is aligning two clocks to the same frequency, without necessarily showing the same time of day. Two syntonized clocks tick at the same rate but may hold a fixed time offset.
Synchronisation is the stronger term: then the clocks agree both in rate (frequency) and in instant (phase/time).
